MailerLite is a simple (yet robust) email marketing tool that has excellent customer service and very reasonable rates.

They have a generous free plan (it even includes automation) and their paid plans are even more comprehensive and very reasonably priced.

I am continually amazed at the features that MailerLite offers its customers at all levels.

Their blog has tons of how-tos and helpful content ideas.

The Coolest Features of MailerLite

MailerLite offers tons of great features. Here is a list of some of my favourites that I didn’t even know to look for.

A/B Testing

This paid feature sends two variations of your email to a small percentage of your list and depending on which one performs better, it sends that variation to the rest of your list, ensuring that you get the best performance out of your emails.

Time Zone Based Delivery

Yup! You read that right.

On the paid plans of MailerLite, you can send emails based on the recipient’s time zone.

This is particularly ideal if you are doing a challenge or sending some other emails where time of day is particularly important. Again, a feature I wouldn’t have even considered, but it could be so helpful.

Dynamic Content

One of the most surprising and delightful (and time-saving) features in the dynamic content blocks. These are a game changer. Note that this feature is only available on paid plans.

I can send the same email to my segmented list and have some of the paragraphs or sections customized to various segments.

Now, rather than writing 3 emails or copying and pasting, I just write one email with small tweaks for each segment.

Customized Unsubscribe Preferences

Your reader can unsubscribe from just some of your emails (if you are using any of the paid plans), rather than unsubscribing completely. This will allow you to send just what interests people and retain all those subscribers you worked so hard to get.

YouTube Embed GIFs

If you add a YouTube Video to your email, MailerLite will turn it into an animated GIF to encourage readers to watch your video.

RSS Campaigns

Automatically send emails when new content is added to an RSS feed. This super low-effort way of keeping in touch with your audience is not ideal for several reasons, but can be an easy way to interact with your list when you are unusually busy as you are getting started.

Other Benefits of MailerLite You Might Not Have Considered

They review accounts to ensure the deliverability of emails sent from MailerLite.

Share links allow you to share your previews with other for proofreading and comments.

Previews show both in desktop format and in mobile so you can ensure the experience will be a good one for all your readers.

In all the paid plans you can send unlimited emails. In the free plan you can still send a very generous 12,000 emails a month.

MailerLite Versus MailChimp

Each subscriber only counts once, no matter how many segments or groups the subscriber belongs to, so those 1000 free subscribers or however many you have in your level lasts far, far longer than the 2000 that MailChimp gives.

MailerLite is so much easier to use than MailChimp.

MailerLite has excellent customer service, whereas MailChimp has bad to none from my experience.

MailerLite Does So Much More than Just Email

You can build great forms, pop-ups and even landing pages right within MailerLite. You can have them show on your WordPress or other sites.

Segment your audience based on demographics, interests, behaviours and more using groups and segments. It is so quick and easy.

Various tracking options (including opens, Google Analytics and ecommerce tracking).

If you are just starting out or have a simple business model, you could probably run your whole business with just this one tool. MailerLite even lets you build your own Website.

What are the Cons of MailerLite?

While MailerLite is an amazing platform, it does have a few drawbacks as does any tool.

The platform is a bit slow. Not unbearably slow, but it is slower than I would expect.
Some of the automation triggers require a little finagling compared to some other (way more expensive) platforms.

Is it Right for Me?

I love working with MailerLite and highly recommend it! The more I work with MailerLite, the more I love it.

Try it and see for yourself.
